About Me

I'm a sociologist and Assistant Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University.  My research interests include social demography, life course sociology, families, migration, and interpersonal relationships.  My forthcoming book, Household Mobility in America: Patterns, Processes, and Outcomes (Palgrave MacMillan, 2017), charts the patterns, trends, and changing roles and nature of U.S. household mobility over time. I also explore how and why long and short distance moves are beneficial for some individuals and families but detrimental for others.
