About Me

I'm a sociologist and Assistant Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University.  My research interests include social demography, life course sociology, families, migration, and interpersonal relationships.  My book, Household Mobility in America: Patterns, Processes, and Outcomes (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017), charts patterns, trends, and the changing roles and nature of U.S. household mobility over time. I also explore how and why long and short distance moves are beneficial for some individuals and families but detrimental for others.
